Today's cartoon

This cartoon relates to a recent local story. A new sports facility in the area (could be the largest in the country) ran in to some parking problems after they scheduled a massive field hockey tournament. One would hope that they would invest in a multi-story parking garage in the future rather than sprawling across the county.

Another reason to go to the library

We were in Manhattan last weekend and had the great pleasure to see the show currently at the New York Public Library titled: "The ABC of It: Why Children's Books Matter". In an exquisitely designed exhibit, you walk through the history of literature for children and learn how the philosophy of how we educate children has changed through time.

Some of the things I loved seeing: the original drawings from Alice in Wonderland; A. A. Milne's son's stuffed animals that were the inspiration for the characters of Winnie the Pooh; and this delightful piece from Little Toot.

A new home for a Harrisburg theater group

WITF radio did a nice piece on the new home for the Gamut Theatre in Harrisburg. I was fortunate to work with Clark Nicholson of Gamut and Jason Smith of Fathom Design Group on a fun, cutaway illustration that showed how they planned to use the new space. A wonderful adaptation of an old church in the heart of downtown Harrisburg. http://www.witf.org/arts-culture/2014/01/gamut-theatre-gets-new-home.php
